Knowledge Test:
- 25 multiple choice questions
- 80% (or more) for passing score
- Sample questions on DOL website and in Operator’s Manual
- $35 fee for retest
- Valid drivers license or acceptable photo I.D required at check in.
Skills Test
- Cone weave with curve to left and a normal stop
- Curve to the right
- Swerve
- Quick stop
- No practice offered before test (training classes offer practice)
- Test will be stopped for: falling or dropping the bike, stalling four times, point accumulation, unsafe acts, and failure to follow or understand instructions
- $50 retest fee
- DOL will charge endorsement fee
Required for Skills Test
- Valid driver’s license
- Your own motorcycle (Street legal, current license plate & registration)
- Functional front & rear brakes
- No fuel, oil, coolant or other fluid leaks
- Tires with legal tread (2/32″) and proper inflation
Required for Rider
- Helmet certified as meeting US DOT requirements (49 CFR Sec 571.218)
- Eye protection defined as goggles, glasses, or faceshield
Disclaimer
If on the day of testing the rider and/or motorcycle do not meet requirements, the test will NOT be conducted and the rider/applicant will be directed to call the office to reschedule for a fee of $50.

- 72 hours advance notice to cancel or reschedule
- $15 admin fee applies to cancels or reschedules
- No refunds if less than 72 hours notice
- No refunds for No-shows
- No exceptions
